She is considered the founder of the philosophical direction she called objectivism, which is in close affinity with libertarianism and liberalism. in addition to the philosophical works of Ayn Rand has written a succession of literary works, including novels the Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged.

She fled Russia after the Revolution of 1917 to the United States, where she, among other things worked as a script writer in Hollywood.
