Christine Marie "Chris" Evert is an American former tennis player.

She was born and grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was trained by his father, a professional tennis player, and developed rapidly to become the country's leading player in the class under 14. 18 years old she made her debut as a professional player. She quickly gained huge media appeal, and that 20-year-old was she ended up in the limelight when she won her first Grand Slam title and because of the romance with tennis star Jimmy Connors.

Chris Evert was the first player who won the 1000 singles matches and was ranked as the world's best player five times. In 1974 she won 56 games in a row, and the next 13 years, until 1986, she won at least one Grand Slam title every year.

Chris Evert won four U.S. Open titles in a row between 1975 and 1978. She won the U.S. Open again in 1980 and 1982. She was almost unbeatable on clay, winning the French Open seven times.

When Chris Evert retired after the 1989 season, she won 18 Grand Slam titles.

She married in 2008 with the Australian golfer Greg Norman.
