Biography

Gerald Isaac "Jerry" Stiller is an American actor and comedian. He is best known for roles as George's father in Seinfeld, and Doug's father in The King of Queens. In younger days he was what we today call a stand-up comedian.

Stiller has participated in several feature films, especially famous movies are Zoolander (2001) and Secret of the Andes (2000) where, among others, Nancy Allen was with. 9. February 2007, Stiller and wife honored with a joint star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 28 October 2010, appeared Stiller and his wife on an episode of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Stiller wrote the foreword to the book Festivus: The Holiday for the rest of us (ISBN 0-446-69674-9) by Allen Salkin, published 26 October 2005. His memoirs were published in 2000.

Jerry Stiller is the father of actors Ben Stiller and Amy. Stiller was the oldest of four children and he was born in Brooklyn, New York City, the son of Bella (née Citrin) and William Stiller, a bus driver. At the end of the 1990s emerged Sets up in a series of Nike TV commercials along with the late head coach of the Green Bay Packers, Vince Lombardi. Stiller is a great enthusiast of martial arts.

His grandparents on his father's side were Austrian Jewish immigrants and his maternal grandparents were Russian Jews. He was educated at Surprise Lake Camp in Cold Spring and Seward Park High School in New York. After he went to Syracuse University, he received a bachelor's degree in speech and drama in 1950.
