BiographyKarl Landsteiner was an Austrian biologist and Nobel laureate. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1930 for his discovery of the AB0 system, our most important blood group classification. Together with Alexander S. Wiener, he succeeded to identify the Rh system in 1937. He was also awarded Laskerprisen in 1946 for this. Landsteiner's also the author of Landsteiners rule.
Landsteiner was elected as a foreign representative of the Royal Academy of Sciences in 1930.
