Biography

Larry David is an American Emmy Award-winning actor, screenwriter, comedian, producer and film director. He was essentially the creator behind Seinfeld, main writer and executive producer. David also made sporadic appearances in the series, and was among other things, the voice of the New York Yankees boss George Steinbrenner. In 2000 he created the TV series No reason for excitement, which won the Golden Globe in 2003 for best television comedy.

David, who previously worked as a stand-up comedian, was the scriptwriter for ABC Fridays from 1980 to 1982, and writer for NBC's popular Saturday Night Live (SNL) from 1984 to 1985. While working for SNL, David managed only to get one of their skits on the show. Frustrated by the situation, he stopped in the middle of a season of the program. For financial reasons, he regretted later in this decision, he showed up the next day and acted like nothing had happened. David met some of his future Seinfeld stars in their early years as a sketch-writer, he worked with Michael Richards (Kramer) in Fridays and met Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine) under SNL footage.
