Laura Miller is an American politician (Democratic Party) and former mayor of Dallas (Texas).

Laura Miller was born in Baltimore. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was then a journalist. As a journalist she wrote for the Miami Herald and the Dallas Morning News as well as a columnist for the New York Daily News and the New Dallas Herald. In 1991, she was also a reporter for the Dallas Observer and a columnist for D Magazine.

In 1998, Laura Miller was elected to the City Council of Dallas. In 2002, she was then in place of Ron Kirk, who wanted to run for a seat in the U.S. Senate, elected mayor of Dallas. Miller broke up after Annette Strauss, the second woman who came through an election to that office. On 6 July 2006, she announced that she would not seek re-election in May 2007.
