Mandel Bruce "Mandy" Patinkin (fødti Chicago, Illinois) is an American actor and tenor.

After some appearances in TV commercials and radio, including the CBS Radio Mystery Theater in 1974, Patinkin had his first success on Broadway in 1979 as he won a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical for. Patinkin then started with the film before he in 1984 returned to Broadway in the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Sunday in the Park with George, which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for. On Broadway, over the next decade, he appeared in the musical The Secret Garden. He also released two solo albums, titled Mandy Patinkin (1989) and Dress Casual (1990).

In 1994, Patinkin role as Dr. Jeffrey Geiger in Chicago Hope dramas which he was awarded an Emmy Award. He left the series during the second season because he would not spend so much time away from his wife. In 1995 he was a guest actor in The Simpsons episode "Lisa's Wedding" as Lisa Simpson in the future bridegroom. In 1999 he returned to the series in the beginning of the 6th season, but this was canceled in 2000. After Chicago Hope, Patinkin has appeared in numerous films. For the most part he has performed as a singer and released 3 albums. Patinkin returned to Broadway in 2000.

In September 2005, Patinkin made his debut in the role of Jason Gideon, an experienced profiles in the TV series Criminal Minds. During the 2007-2008 season, his character Jason Gideon written out of the series, replaced by Special Agent David Rossi (Joe Mantegna played). 14.
