BiographyMichael Kelland John Hutchence was an Australian musician and actor. He was the founder, vocalist and songwriter for rock band INXS from 1977 until his death in 1997. Hutchence was a member of the short-lived pop-rock group Max Q and recorded solo material that was first published after his death. He was an actor in films Dogs in Space (1986) and Frankenstein Unbound (1990). According to rock historian Ian McFarlane was "the archetypal Hutchence show the man in rock. He utsonderte an open sexual, macho coolness with his flowing locks and lithe and exuberant movements on stage. "At the award ceremony in 1991 at the BRIT Awards won Hutchence award as" best international artist "while INXS won the related award for music groups.
His private life was often featured in Australian and international press with a series of love affairs with famous actors, models and singers. Hutchence relation to the British TV personality Paula Yates began while she was still married to the musician and the organizer of Live Aid, Bob Geldof. Hutchence and Yates had a daughter together in 1996 right after she had separated itself from Geldof. Hutchence's death in 1997 was explained by likskuemannen in New South Wales as a result of suicide, but was opposed by Yates, his family and supporters. In 2000, Yates died of an overdose of heroin and their daughter was placed in care Geldof with her half sisters.
Lead singer of Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan, wrote shortly after the song "Shame" of Michael Hutchence. The text was simply a poem about what Corgan would have told him before he died.
