Biography
Ovid was a Roman poet who, together with Virgil, Horace, Propertius and Tibullus considered the augusteiske future great writers. Ovid was born into a wealthy knight's family in Sulmona, a town in the Apennines. In the age of twelve he and his one year older brother, sent to Rome to take a degree in law and rhetoric.
