Sarah Michelle Gellar is an actress from the United States. She got her breakthrough in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

When Sarah was only four years old, she was spotted by a talent agent while she was sitting in a restaurant and ate. She gave the man the name and phone number, and the agent contacted the mother. She played first in a series of commercials and later became a series of small roles in various TV series and TV movies.

She won a Daytime Emmy in 1995 for "Outstanding Younger Actress in Drama Series" for her role as Kendall Hart in All My Children. Right after this she joined the soap opera and moved to California with her mother.

Her breakthrough was her first in 1997 when she got the role of Buffy Anne Summers in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003). Buffy is a young girl in high school who must fight the various monsters and vampires in the small town of Sunnydale, California.
