Biography

Stone Gossard is an American musician. Gossard is best known as a guitarist in the band Pearl Jam.

Gossard played for a number of garage bands in Seattle, before he in 1984 helped start the band Green River together with other school-mate Steve Turner. Green River is considered among the pioneers of grunge music with his noisy mix of punk and metal.

Green River disbanded in 1988. Gossard was then co-founded Mother Love Bone Together with the former Green River members Jeff Ament and Bruce Fairweather. Also, Mother Love Bone had a brief career. The band disbanded after lead singer Andy Wood died in 1990. Later that year, Gossard on reviving Pearl Jam, again with Jeff Ament.

In addition to Pearl Jam, Gossard has also released two singles with his side project, "Brad." He has also appeared as a guest on other artists albums.
