Biography

Zakk Wylde (born Jeffrey Phillip Wiedlandt 1 in New Jersey) is an American heavy metal guitarist.

Wylde is the lead singer, pianist and guitarist of Black Label Society. His third band, Pride and Glory, released the music album Pride and Glory in 1994 before they disbanded the same year. He was a solo artist for a while, but after the unsuccessful acoustic album Book of Shadows and rejected offers to play in Guns N 'Roses, he formed the band Black Label Society in 1998. He is also part of Guitar Hero World Tour, the "Zakk Wylde Guitar Duel".

Wylde started playing guitar at age 15. He has even said that he usually played 12 hours a day and sometimes in the leg from when he came home from school until he was back at school the next day and then sleep through the day. When he grew up, he played in the local band "Stonehenge". Some years later, he changed the group to "Zyris." In 1987 he accepted to become a permanent member of Ozzy Osbourne's band. He debuted on the album No Rest for the Wicked in 1988.
