Decorated veteran Will Sharp, desperate for money to cover his wife's medical bills, asks for help from his adoptive brother Danny. A charismatic career criminal, Danny instead offers him a score: the biggest bank heist in Los Angeles history: $32 million.

Overview
"Ambulance" is a 2022 American action-thriller film, directed by prominent filmmaker Michael Bay. The movie is a remake of the 2005 Danish film of the exact same name. The star-studded cast consists of Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Eiza González.

Plot
The story follows two bros, Danny (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Will Sharp (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), involved in a desperate circumstance. Will, a war veteran and having a hard time family man, needs $231,000 for his better half's surgical treatment. To help his bro, Danny, a long-lasting wrongdoer, recommends they rob a bank which he guarantees is a low-risk, quick service. Despite his appointments, Will hesitantly agrees.

Nevertheless, the supposedly simple heist rapidly weakens into an unsafe captive situation when the brothers' escape doesn't go as planned. They are forced to highjack an ambulance with a critically-ill client and the steadfast Paramedic, Cam Thompson (Eiza González), on board.

As they race through the city, they're pursued non-stop by a devoted police officer, played by Garret Dillahunt. The brothers must get rid of various challenges to protect their flexibility, while Cam should keep her client alive while caught in the middle of this lethal chase.

Performances
Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II deliver intense and dynamic performances as the conflicted siblings. Their on-screen chemistry is palpable as they oscillate in between misery, anxiety, and familial affection.

Eiza González, as the durable Cam, offers a strong, sensitive performance in a function that demands simultaneous physical action and emotional character work. She brings empathy and depth in her interactions with the brothers and her critical client.

Directorial Execution
Director Michael Bay is understood for his high-octane action sequences and explosive visuals. In "Ambulance", he remains in his normal comfort zone, employing his signature design of hectic action and significant suspense supported by high-budget effects. The movie's pulse-pounding car chases after, remarkable stunts, and several plot twists keep the audience on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

Conclusion
"Ambulance" is a high-stakes action thriller that masterfully balances explosive action with a human story of desperation and familial bonds. Boosted by effective efficiencies and Michael Bay's distinctive stylistic flair, the film provides unrelenting tension, making for an exciting cinematic experience. While the film occasionally veers into over-the-top territory, it does not interfere with the total strength and excitement of this adrenaline-fueled flight. "Ambulance" shows to be a gripping illustration of the lengths some would go to for household.
