Introduction and Plot
The 2016 movie "Blair Witch" is a supernatural horror movie directed by Adam Wingard and written by Simon Barrett. It's basically a direct sequel to the 1999 traditional "The Blair Witch Project", dismissing the less successful 2000 follow-up, "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2" as non-canonical.

The story revolves around James Donahue (James Allen McCune), whose sibling, Heather, was one of the documentary filmmakers that mysteriously vanished in the original film. After discovering a video online revealing what he thinks to be his sister's experiences in the haunted woods, James is figured out to find her, encouraged that she is in some way still alive.

Search for Heather and the Haunted Woods
James and his good friends, Peter (Brandon Scott), Ashley (Corbin Reid), and Lisa (Callie Hernandez), along with regional homeowners and expected experts on the Blair Witch legend, Lane (Wes Robinson) and Talia (Valorie Curry), start a journey into the Black Hills Forest, where they wish to discover the reality behind Heather's weird disappearance. Much of the movie is viewed through the lens of cams, alternating between portable, body webcams, and drone footage, echoing the found footage style of the initial.

Menstruation of the Blair Witch
After finding odd stick figures hanging from the trees and encountering mysterious phenomena, the group recognizes that the stories about menstruation woods might be real. The nature of the woods seems to change inexplicably, and their sense of time and instructions is heavily manipulated. The team ends up being progressively paranoid and scared as they're afflicted by scary phantoms and the unlimited night in the forest.

Encounter with the Blair Witch
Late in the movie, the witch manipulates time and area to confuse and separate the members of James' group. As each character faces their demise, their worries are gotten by the electronic cameras they bring, recording troubling and haunting images that mean the existence of the terrifying Blair Witch.

Climax and Conclusion
Towards completion, James and Lisa, the staying survivors, come across the worn out house from the first movie. In a chilling climax, James is led to think that his sis remains in your house and enters search of her, while Lisa attempts to get away from the pursuing Blair Witch.

In real tribute to the original, the climax plays into the legend that the witch can eliminate you if you look directly at her. In desperation, Lisa utilizes a video camera screen to browse in reverse. But James, fooled into believing he's found his long-lost sibling, reverses and satisfies his death. A worried Lisa, hearing James' voice, makes the deadly error of reversing, allowing the witch to declare her life and therefore, ending the movie on a deeply upsetting note.

General Impression
Overall, "Blair Witch" reestablishes audiences to the less-is-more horror design of its predecessor. It integrates nerve-jangling suspense with inventive methods of modern filmmaking to provide a chilling, though rather familiar, experience to fans of the initial. Regardless of some undesirable reviews, the movie uses an engaging reiteration of the Blair Witch legend and elevates the folklore with new weaves, making it an intense cinematic journey into the heart of darkness.
