The fashion world meets the underworld in BOOM, written and directed by Kaizad Gustad and produced by Ayesha Shroff under the banner of Quest Films

Introduction
"Boom" is a 2003 Bollywood action thriller film directed by Kaizad Gustad, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Padma Lakshmi, Katrina Kaif, and Zeenat Aman. The film presents the aspect of the high fashion world and the underbelly of diamond dealing. It failed to make an effect at package office, but found a cult following for its excessive styling and dialogues.

Plot summary
The story begins with a fashion program arranged by a Mumbai-based fashion designer, where global model Anu Gaekwad (Madhu Sapre), Indian design Sheila Bardez (Katrina Kaif), and Rina Kaif (Padma Lakshmi) are carrying out. Suddenly, diamonds worth over ₤ 200 million belonging to underworld put on Bade Mia (Amitabh Bachchan), smuggled into the program, inexplicably vanish.

The 3 models are then thought and held liable for the missing out on diamonds due to their negligent behavior on the ramp. A rift ensues amongst the three. The diamonds were actually stolen by Chhote Mia (Jackie Shroff) and Medium Mia (Gulshan Grover), wear Bade Mia's arch-rivals.

Conflict and Resolution
Bade Mia looks for the help of his sexy secretary, Monica (Zeenat Aman), to recover his diamonds. Monica controls the models, appealing them with a 10% commission if they can bring back the diamonds. The ladies embark on their look for the diamonds, eventually finding that they were taken by Chhote Mia and Medium Mia.

After many action-packed sequences and disorderly struggles, the models finally succeed in obtaining the diamonds, developing a sense of unity among them and beating Bade Mia, Chhote Mia, and Medium Mia.

Performances and Execution
"Boom" assures an elegant showcase of criminal offense, style glamour with a dash of humor yet primarily stops working to provide on its promise due to irregular performance. However, the film does boast a couple of notable elements. Amitabh Bachchan and Jackie Shroff's performances as underworld dons are scrumptious and entertaining. Padma Lakshmi, Katrina Kaif, and Madhu Sapre, although their acting abilities are raw, mesmerize with their sizzling screen existence.

Zeenat Aman goes back to the big screen with her sexy secretary character set to be an unforgettable one, but the shoddy script lets her down. While the film's fashion series are visually unique, the other action and suspense parts tend to be over-done and fall flat.

Conclusion
Although "Boom" had a star-studded cast and attempted to serve a fascinating plot based upon the combination of the high-life fashion business and the dark underworld, it experienced a confusing storyline and irregular execution. Today, the movie is most significantly known for marking the Bollywood debut of Katrina Kaif. In spite of its failure, it can be valued for its distinct and oddball treatment of an otherwise traditional plot. It advanced some unique elements that had the prospective to alter Indian movie theater's landscape had they been carried out better.
