Introduction
"Cabin Fever" is a 2002 American scary film directed and co-written by Eli Roth. The movie focuses on a group of college graduates who rent a cabin in the woods and begin to fall victim to a flesh-eating virus. This film is special in combining components of both comedy and horror, resulting in an unique viewing experience.

Plot Summary
The story follows five college graduates - Paul, Karen, Jeff, Marcy, and Bert - as they venture for a week-long trip in a remote cabin in the woods. They are at first unwelcomed by the local shopkeeper and his child, who make clear their contempt for outsiders. Meanwhile, they cross paths with a strange hermit, who later on becomes the source of their problems.

The scary begins with the hermit, covered in a grotesque, bloody rash, seeking assistance from them after his pet dog is presumably hit by their lorry. In spite of his pleas, the group, frightened for their security, turns him away strongly. Later that evening, the hermit's body is discovered dead in the tank that offers the cabin's water supply.

Soon after, Karen, one of the group, falls ill with similar gruesome symptoms to the hermit, suggesting a serious flesh-eating infection. Rather of helping her, the group quarantines Karen out of fear of getting contaminated themselves. As the plot unfolds, the virus spreads, contaminating others in the cabin. The when close-knit group begins turning on each other, unraveling the tension and fear that sweeps over the cabin.

Climax and Conclusion
With the weakening circumstance and increasing suspect, the group ultimately disbands. Jeff deserts his good friends to protect himself, while Paul tries to seek aid from the residents. Bert, in his efforts to get away, ends up unintentionally shooting a young boy in the local shop.

Paul returns with grim news from the regional medical facility: the virus is unidentified, with no treatment. He discovers Marcy dead, most likely following a suicide after successionally sleeping with both Bert and Paul upon the crisis in the cabin. Jeff, the sole survivor of the group besides Paul, is killed by the store owner's kid out of panic.

Paul, as the last standing member, finally eliminates the rabid canine bring the virus and returns to the cabin to find Karen dead and mutilated. In a desperate move, Paul drinks an alcohol bottle to clean the possible virus in his system. Paul is seen being picked up by a truck motorist, supposedly the only survivor of the horrible experience.

Epilogue
Regardless of the apparent end, the scary is far from over. In the final scenes, it is exposed that the tank polluted by the infected hermit's dead body continues to supply water to the regional town, recommending the virus is set to spread to the more comprehensive population. The movie ends with a paradoxical surface, leaving viewers with thriller and unease.

In general
"Cabin Fever" amalgamates the thriller of traditional horror with surprising minutes of humor. Regardless of its graphic scenes of body horror, it's amazed with its story on human nature's dark side, particularly when faced with worry and uncertainty, striking home with audiences and critics alike.
