Film Summary
"Cherry Falls" is a 2000 horror secret movie directed by Geoffrey Wright. The film boasts an enormous star-studded cast that consists of Brittany Murphy, Jay Mohr, Michael Biehn, and Jesse Bradford.

Plot Summary
Embed in a small, serene town of Cherry Falls, Virginia, the movie focuses on a group of vigiant high school trainees led by popular woman Jody Marken (played by Murphy), who discover themselves shaken when they end up being the targets of a deranged serial killer. The killer has a rather unique method operandi: he only targets virgins and leaves the word "virgin" carved onto the bodies of his victims.

Jody's dad, Sheriff Brent Marken (played by Biehn), starts investigating the murders and tries to keep them a trick to prevent panic in the town. However, rumors start to spread out, and high school trainees decide they can prevent the killer by losing their virginity, thus preparing a "Pop Your Cherry" party.

Plot Unfolding
As the film progresses, we discover that the murders are connected to an event that happened 25 years back. Three men, consisting of the now-principal Tom Sisler, had sexually assaulted a young woman named Loralee Sherman. The assault led to a daughter who now seeks revenge for the sins devoted against her mother.

Remarkably, the cruel killer is exposed to be the high school's English teacher, Mr. Leonard Marliston (played by Mohr), rather unforeseen, considering Mr. Marliston's initially sincere and caring nature. He is Loralee Sherman's child, who takes on a womanly identity to lure his victims and eliminate them, therefore getting his revenge.

Climax and Conclusion
Tension installs as students collect for the huge celebration unaware that the killer prepares to massacre everyone attending the party. On the other hand, Jody and her partner, Kenny (played by Bradford), find that Mr. Marliston is the killer when they find a yearbook picture exposing that his mother is Loralee Sherman.

In the climactic confrontation at the celebration, Sheriff Marken and Jody confront the killer. Jody kills Mr. Marliston, hence saving his schoolmates from being the victims of the killer's revenge plan. The students who make it through are left distressed, picking up the pieces of what was supposed to be a night of fun however turned into a scary problem.

Total Impact
"Cherry Falls" is a mixture of horror, humor, and suspense and injects a revitalizing spin into the standard slasher trope by reversing the typical "sex results in death" rule. The movie excels with clever discussion, strong efficiencies specifically from Brittany Murphy, and smart plot twists. It has maintained a cult following due to its unique story and keeps the audiences on the edge of their seats till the very end.
