Introduction
"Dead Like Me: Life After Death" is a dark comedy-drama film based upon Showtime's cult struck television series "Dead Like Me". Directed by Stephen Herek, the film includes the majority of the original cast except for Mandy Patinkin and Laura Harris. The movie was launched on February 17, 2009, after the cancellation of the initial series. The motion picture attempted to give fans a closure of sorts by offering a look into the lives (or after-lives) of their favorite characters. The film mainly focuses on the concept of death and the unorthodox tasks of pale horses, using an eccentric, rather morbid and yet, intriguing narrative.

Plot Summary
Set in Seattle, the movie picks up from where the television series ended, following the lives of a number of reapers who were not able to cross over to the other side. The main lead character George Lass (Ellen Muth), a young reaper, is at the centre of the narrative, whose task is to collect souls right before people's foreseen deaths. The movie begins with the damage of their preferred meet-up location, Der Waffle Haus, leading the reapers to their new boss, Cameron Kane (Henry Ian Cusick), who changes the stiff Rube Sofer from the initial series.

Reapers' New Boss
The reapers at first appreciate Cameron's easygoing design, but quickly they recognize that things were much better under Sofer's strict guidance. Cameron motivates the reapers to tamper with their projects, wreaking havoc in their existence. Cameron's careless behaviour postures numerous threats and causes unsettling circumstances, including the unneeded deaths of those whose time hadn't yet come.

George's Storyline
On the other hand, the film also elaborates on George's personal life. She tries to preserve her relationship with her household while hiding her identity as a reaper. However, when a dripped video of her, filmed throughout among her gaining projects, gets on television, her sibling suspects her true identity. She has a hard time to keep her secret intact while handling her duties as a reaper in the midst of Cameron's carelessness.

Conclusion and Review
"Dead Like Me: Life After Death" bind loose ends and uses a fitting albeit various conclusion to the wacky cult-series. The movie may have seemed a little off-putting for initial fans due to the change in tone and rate, with the brand-new character of Cameron disrupting the series' established dynamic. Both the film and the series make a philosophical commentary on life and death, though couched in a lot of satire, black funny, and surreal narrative aspects. The performances, particularly by Ellen Muth and brand-new addition Henry Ian Cusick, were noteworthy. However, the exemption of Mandy Patinkin's character was felt in the total narrative. Despite its imperfections, it supplied a closure that the unexpected cancellation of the series left the fans craving.
