Summary:

"Death Race 2050" is a 2017 American political satire, science fiction, action direct-to-video movie directed by G.J. Echternkamp. It was produced by Roger Corman, who is also the developer of the original "Death Race 2000" movie from 1975. This 2017 movie draws its inspiration from the earlier work, holding onto the essence of raw violence, black funny, and social criticism, while also attending to contemporary themes.

Plot:
The motion picture is embeded in a dystopian future of the year 2050, where overpopulated America is managed by a business federal government. To keep control and keep the population amused, the regime has formed a yearly violent vehicle race called the "Death Race". During the race, motorists traverse the country with the goal to obliterate pedestrians for points on the scoreboard. The protagonist, 'Frankenstein' (played by Manu Bennett), is a ruling champion of the Death Race, a mystical racer surgically fashioned into a half-man, half-machine entity.

Character Narrative:
Frankenstein is coupled with a brand-new co-pilot, Annie Sullivan (played by Marci Miller), who at first plans to interfere with the race from within by joining a resistance group. Nevertheless, as the narrative develops, she succumbs to Frankenstein, complicating her commitment to the resistance. The list of eccentric rivals consist of Tammy 'The Terrorist' (played by Anessa Ramsey), a psychotic televangelist, Minerva Jefferson (played by Folake Olowofoyeku), a hip-hop super star, 'Perfectus' (Burt Grinstead), a genetically engineered professional athlete, and 'ABE', an automobile with artificial intelligence.

Progress of the Race:

The race continues in the middle of brutal violence and comedic instances, set versus the backdrop of a divided, dystopian society obsessed with virtual reality and home entertainment. Each racer utilizes their unique capabilities and methods to get ahead of their challengers, either by eliminating them directly or getting more points by eliminating pedestrians. Meanwhile, the resistance group plans to end the vicious spectacle, intending to topple the system managing it. Problems occur when the group's strategy accompanies the harmful methods of the racers.

Conclusion and Theme:
The climax accompanies high-speed goes after, explosive crashes, and heavy casualties. Frankenstein, after a series of struggles and on-road battles, manages to protect victory in the deadly race. Nevertheless, the movie ends on an ambivalent note, exposing the concern of whether the resistance entirely failed in its objective. It emphasizes the ethical predicaments related to mass home entertainment and the harmful impacts of an excessively media-saturated society.

In conclusion, "Death Race 2050", while protecting its heritage of a tacky, low-budget satirical movie, paints an extremely sincere picture of a society ruled by a dystopian routine that profits from the hedonistic tendencies of its individuals. It portrays a dire future where humanity's need for mind-blowing home entertainment supersedes their ethical compass, commenting on the disconcerting patterns of our time.
