The friends choose to spend the Fourth of July weekend together at a lake house. The reunion is filled with good-hearted nostalgia and a lot of comic events.

Lenny, represented by Sandler, is an effective Hollywood representative wed to Roxanne, a designer. They have three kids who are ruined and dependent on their baby-sitter. Eric, played by Kevin James, is a co-owner of a lawn furnishings company who typically pretends to have a better task to impress others. His better half Sally still breastfeeds their four-year-old kid, triggering many comical moments.

Chris Rock plays Kurt, a stay-at-home father married to Deanne, a career-oriented lady. David Spade plays Marcus, a single and carefree guy. Lastly, Rob Schneider represents Rob, a New Age hippie with a much older wife.

Dispute and Resolution
The pals have conflicts and stress with their households, especially Lenny, who has problem with his spoiled kids and partner requiring a luxurious lifestyle. These issues are overemphasized when they socialize with their friends who are leading more easy and satisfying lives. They also deal with conflicts within their group due to differences in their way of lives and choices.

In spite of their differences, they come together to play their coaches' annual basketball video game where they at first lose to their veteran competitors. However, they ultimately accomplishment after admitting their errors and deciding to play as real to themselves. They realize the values they had grown up with and choose to reconnect with their roots.
