Plot Summary
"Heartwood" is a 1998 family drama directed by Lanny Cotler. The film stars Jason Robards, Hilary Swank, and John Terry. Set in the small rural town of Heartwood, the story is surrounded around two households-- the Burden household and the Keeler family.

The film opens with Joe (John Terry), an out of work, beat log chauffeur, who is having a hard time to restore his fading marital relationship with Betty Burden. The financial challenge also threatens the existence of the town's regional bank run by senior local, Logan Reeser (Jason Robards).
