Film Overview
"I Know What You Did Last Summer" is a 1997 American slasher movie directed by Jim Gillespie and composed by Kevin Williamson. The movie is focused around 4 young good friends who are haunted by an enormous figure looking for revenge for a deadly mishap they triggered and hid the previous summertime. One year later, they begin receiving confidential messages threatening to reveal their dark trick.

The Main Plot
The movie starts on the Fourth of July. The high school elders - Jennifer Love Hewitt playing Julie James, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Helen Shivers, Ryan Phillippe portraying Barry Cox, and Freddie Prinze Jr. as Ray Bronson - celebrate with a beach celebration. As they drive house drunk, they unintentionally hit a man and believe he is dead. Worried, the four good friends decide to dispose the victim's body into the sea, assuring to never ever tell anybody about the event.

A year later, Julie returns home from college and finds an anonymous letter bearing the cooling message: "I Know What You Did Last Summer". The terrified quartet reunites, and it is soon exposed that they didn't kill their victim as his body was never ever found. The pals begin to receive threatening messages and are terrorised by a hook-wielding killer who appears to learn about the covered-up occurrence.

Increasing Tension and Horror
The enormous occasions kick into high gear when Barry is attacked by a hook-wielding male dressed in a rain slicker, similar to what their hit-and-run victim was wearing.
