Film Overview
"Infinite" is a 2021 science fiction action film directed by Antoine Fuqua. The film is based upon the novel 'The Reincarnationist Papers' by D. Eric Maikranz. Mark Wahlberg plays the lead function character Evan McCauley, a guy who discovers he had previous lives, therefore, exposing a completely brand-new world unbeknownst to him. The movie was at first launched digitally through Paramount+ on June 10, 2021.

Plot Summary
Evan McCauley, haunted by confusing abilities and memories he can not describe, has problem with obvious schizophrenia. Medical prescriptions don't work and he self-medicates by blacksmithing things he subconsciously keeps in mind from his past life. One day, McCauley is approached by a secret group called the "Infinites", who reveal that his vibrant hallucinations are real memories from previous lives.

The Infinites are divided into two groups: the "Believers" who view immortality as a present, and the "Nihilists", who see it as a curse and mean to end all life in the world to stop the reincarnation cycle. The villain Bathurst, a nihilist Infinite, seeks 'The Egg', a gadget efficient in ending all life-- which was concealed by Heinrich Treadway, McCauley's past life.

McCauley is at first doubtful but is required to accept this reality about his identity when he is recorded by Bathurst. He manages to leave and, together with fellow Believer Nora Brightman, they start a globe-trotting adventure to save humanity from Bathurst's apocalyptic threats. Through their journey, McCauley discovers how to recall his previous lives and their skills, turning him into an unforeseeable weapon.

Performance and Reception
Mark Wahlberg uses an efficiency full of action-hero stoicism as Evan McCauley. Other stars including Sophie Cookson, who plays Nora Brightman, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as villain Bathurst also provide strong efficiencies. Nevertheless, the movie received blended evaluations ranging from praise for its original facility and busy action series, to criticism on its complicated plot points and lack of character growth.
