Intro
"Late Phases" is an American indie scary film directed by Adrian Garcia Bogliano and launched in 2014. This engaging movie follows the life of Ambrose McKinley, a blind Vietnam War veteran who relocates to a retirement home and is required to confront a series of vicious and fatal attacks by a werewolf.

Plot
Ambrose (played by Nick Damici) moves into the Crescent Bay retirement home after his son Will offers the household home. Unfortunately, on his first night there, his pet dog is savagely killed by a beast, which Ambrose immediately identifies as a monster. The community prosecutors associate the attacks to wild animals, however Ambrose, skeptical of the description, starts his own investigation.



Investigation and Discovery
Using his increased senses, Ambrose tracks the scent left by the monster back to a neighbor's house. He uncovers troubling secrets in the close-knit community, learning that innocent senior citizens have been the victims of dreadful attacks on a monthly basis. He realizes that the timing of these attacks accompanies the moon, fueling his belief in the monster theory.



The Confrontation
Persuaded that the werewolf will return on the next moon, Ambrose gets ready for the fight. He acquires silver bullets but discovers himself covered in secret as he narrows down the suspects. In gripping climax, he confronts the monstrous werewolf however sustains major injuries at the same time.



Reconciliation
In the movie's last scenes, Ambrose is gone to by his kid Will. Both males reveal their regrets and reconcile their distinctions leading to a sincere and psychological exchange. Post this, Ambrose prepares himself for one final stand against the monster, leading to a significant fight.

Conclusion
"Late Phases" is a fresh and suspenseful take on the timeless monster story. Instead of depending on gruesome visuals and jump scares, the film smartly uses the protagonist's blindness to construct suspense and fear. Damici's gritty performance as Ambrose is the soul of the movie, mesmerizing audiences as he quickly develops from a gruff and separated war veteran to an unlikely, brave defender.
