Film Overview
"Nancy Drew" is a secret funny film released in 2007, directed by Andrew Fleming and produced by Jerry Weintraub. Emma Roberts stars as the titular character, Nancy Drew, a teenage detective based upon the popular book series by Carolyn Keene. The film is set in the modern-day time with aspects of the retro design, making it a movie that combines a contemporary perceptiveness with the appeal of the initial characters.

Plot Summary
The movie begins in Nancy's hometown of River Heights, where she solves a secret before moving to Los Angeles with her daddy, Carson Drew, who is a successful attorney. To Nancy's enjoyment, they move into a home previously owned by a motion picture star, Dehlia Draycott, who died under mysterious scenarios. Sleuthing, her favorite pastime, engaging her to examine the unsolved mystery of Dehlia's death.

Main Characters and Their Interactions
While going to Hollywood High School, Nancy finds herself a misfit due to her old-fashioned style and stringent focus on her detective work. In spite of being ostracized by other trainees, Nancy manages to make buddies with a 12-year old kid Corky (Josh Flitter) and somewhat befriends popular woman Inga (Daniella Monet), and her partner, Leshing (Max Thieriot). The latter later becomes her crime-solving partner.

Revealing the Mystery
Nervously handling brand-new high school life, Nancy continues to follow various hints about Dehlia's death. Geared up with her detective kit and astute perception, she discovers numerous suspects consisting of Dehlia's manager Dashiel Biedermeyer, the benefactor of Dehlia's estate, his daughter Jane Brighton, and Leshing who ends up being Dehlia's secret kid. Nancy's pursuit of the reality puts her and her friends' lives in danger, leading up to a gripping climax with a cars and truck chase and a last confrontation with the antagonist inside a theater.

Resolution and Conclusion
The secret slowly unravels when Nancy learns that Dehlia had a child called Jane, who was crossed out her will considering that Dehlia's attorney had forged the will, setting himself as the benefactor. After a series of edge-of-the-seat occasions including a messed up kidnapping attempt of Jane and Leshing, Nancy exposes the lawyer's strategy and helps Jane claim her rightful inheritance. Jane, grateful to Nancy, uses her a house in Los Angeles. However, being real to her roots, Nancy decides to return to River Heights leaving behind the glitzy life of Los Angeles, but not prior to solving another mystery on her aircraft journey back home.

"Bridging the space in between the teenage and adult world in a cool, respectful method, "Nancy Drew" provides a lead character who is brainy, resourceful, steadfast, and unapologetically square. With signs of Nancy's valiancy, smartness, and righteousness echoing throughout the movie-- and often juxtaposed versus her youth and gender-- the film ingeniously lays out the paradoxical nature of adolescence. The motion picture ends with a note hinting at prospective sequels, possibly even a series, constructed around this beloved character.
