The lost city of Kuma is ruled by the cruel, arrogant, beautiful queen, Ayesha, gifted with eternal life. She lures Leo Vincey into her world, seeing in him the reincarnation of the lover she long ago murdered in a fit of violent jealousy. Against all advice Leo is determined to stay and Ayesha persuades him to bathe in the flame of eternal youth... with disastrous consequences.

Film Synopsis
"She" is a British experience dream film launched in 1965 and is directed by Robert Day. This film is based on H. Rider Haggard's 1886 novel of the exact same name. The plot focuses on a powerful yet mysteriously ageless queen who leads a lost city, and her love interest, who she believes to be the reincarnation of an ancient lover.

Main Plots
The film starts with three adventure-seeking British officers, Leo Vincey, Holly, and Job, stationed in the Middle East throughout the First World War. The queen thinks that Leo is the reincarnation of her lover from 2000 years ago and insists he must succeed her to the throne.

Everlasting Love and Power
The Queen's affection towards Leo quickly intensifies, and she exposes the trick to her fountain of youth: a secret flame concealed in the city's depths. Nevertheless, she warns Leo of the flame's unforeseeable nature. Unswayed, Leo requires that Ayesha reveals him this flame so he can stay with her permanently, to which Ayesha unwillingly agrees.

Plan-Backfire and Tragic Ending
Breaking Ayesha's recommendations, Leo decides to bathe in the fire, however instead of approving him eternal life as it did with Ayesha, the flame turns Leo old and weak. A panic-stricken and spontaneous Ayesha goes into the flame to attempt and conserve him, but it instead ages her rapidly, and she dies in Leo's arms. The film ends with a frail and shaken Leo remaining in the lost city, having lost Ayesha and his young life, with only Holly and Job by his side.
