Two former backup soul singers, Louis and Floyd, have not spoken to each other in 20 years, and reluctantly agree to travel across the country together to a reunion concert to honor their recently-deceased lead singer. Cleo, a beautiful young woman who is believed to be Floyd's daughter, accompanies them as a new singer.

Introduction

The Plot

Jackson), fell out years ago, with Floyd retiring from the music market to become a successful business owner, while Louis served time in prison. The duo are encouraged to reunite after 30 years to play at Hooks' homage performance at the Apollo Theater.

Reunion and Road Trip
A reluctant Louis agrees to join Floyd on this journey. They embark on a cross-country journey, engaging in comedic adventures, including squabbles, singing battles, and the retrieval of a car from Louis's ex. Along their journey, Louis and Floyd are comically reacquainted, rekindling their friendship while likewise handling old grievances. Meanwhile, they also find Cleo (Sharon Leal), a young vocalist declared by an ex-bandmate to be Floyd's child.

Efficiency at the Apollo Theater
Upon their arrival at the Apollo Theater, Floyd and Louis have a final argument resulting in a fistfight. Floyd suffers a cardiac arrest and ends up in the hospital. Throughout his healing, Floyd reveals that he understands Cleo is not his child but has consented to the pretense for her musical profession. Despite Floyd's dire state, Louis encourages him to go to Apollo, and they provide a sincere and emotional efficiency, rekindling the magic of 'The Real Deal.'

Tradition of the Soul Men
Following their return performance, Floyd and Louis are used a revival contract. Nevertheless, Floyd, understanding his health is degrading, selects to retire from the music world and encourages Louis to take the opportunity for himself. The movie concludes with Floyd's death, and Louis leads a tribute in honor of him on stage, bringing the musical bond of 'The Real Deal' full circle.

"Soul Men" blends funny and drama with musical fond memories, painting the journey of two separated buddies satisfying their predestined reunion on a popular stage.
