Young American dancer Susie Bannion arrives in 1970s Berlin to audition for the world-renowned Helena Markos Dance Company. When she vaults to the role of lead dancer, the woman she replaces breaks down and accuses the company's female directors of witchcraft. Meanwhile, an inquisitive psychotherapist and a member of the troupe uncover dark and sinister secrets as they probe the depths of the studio's hidden underground chambers.

Intro
"Suspiria" is a 2018 supernatural horror movie directed by Luca Guadagnino, based on the 1977 movie of the very same name by Dario Argento. The film stars Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, and Chloe Grace Moretz. Especially, the film is set in late-1970s Berlin and is divided into six acts and an epilogue.

Plot
"Suspiria" follows American dancer, Susie Bannion (Dakota Johnson), who auditions for and gets accepted into a distinguished dance academy in Berlin - the Markos Tanz Company. On her extremely first day, she impresses the faculty and is promoted to replace the prima ballerina, Patricia (Chloe Grace Moretz), who vanished under mysterious scenarios.

Despite Patricia's disappearance, the Markos Tanz Company continues to function under the management of creative director Madame Blanc (Tilda Swinton), who takes a particular interest in Susie. Significantly, an air of malevolence hangs over the business, with Patricia accusing the faculty of being witches prior to she goes missing.

Mystery and Revelation
While Susie is mastering her dancing profession, her buddy Sara (Mia Goth) examines Patricia's disappearance and comes across weird occurrences within the academy. At The Same Time, Dr. Josef Klemperer, a psychiatrist, is drawn into the examination after Patricia, one of his patients, vanished. He finds the academy is the front for a coven of witches who use the dancers for their rituals.

Climax
The tension culminates on the night of the Volk dance, for which Susie is the lead performer. Backstage, Sara is captured sleuthing around by the witches and is brutally killed. After her efficiency, Susie is selected for a horrific routine. It's revealed that Madame Blanc and the coven strategy to move the spirit of their ancient leader, Helena Markos, into Susie's body.

Ending and Epilogue
In a stunning twist, Susie reveals that she is the real Mother Suspiriorum, among the 3 "Mothers" the witches praise. She summons Death, who eliminates Markos and her fans. Susie spares Madame Blanc and the other trainers who didn't support Markos. She uses a pain-free death to the shocked students and after that check outs Dr. Klemperer, eliminating his memory of the coven. The movie ends, leaving the viewer to face the eerie quietude that follows the storm.

Themes and Interpretation
"Suspiria" presents a complicated narrative woven with themes of power, manipulation, womanhood, and rebirth.
