Centuries ago, under the sands of ancient Egypt, a Prince was buried and his tomb eternally cursed so that no man would ever again suffer from his evil ways. But hundreds of years later on a greedy search for treasure, a group of archaeologists break the cursed seal of the tomb. Every man vanishes without a trace, leaving behind only a log book, and a deadly warning of the legend of the bloodthirsty Talos.

Introduction

Plot Overview
The film begins with Sir Richard Turkel (Christopher Lee) leading an expedition in 1949 into an Egyptian tomb, that of the Prince of Darkness, Talos. When Sir Richard opens the burial place, a series of violent occasions unfold, specifying menstruation of Talos. All members are found dead. Years later on, his granddaughter, Samantha Turkel (Louise Lombard), fascinated by the unsolved mystery, encourages her boyfriend, Detective Riley (Jason Scott Lee) to accompany her to Egypt to even more investigate the event that declared her grandpa.

After discovering the lost burial place, they handle to obtain a lone chest, uninformed that it consists of the heart of the cruel mummy, Prince Talos. When the chest is opened back in London, it releases a wicked force that starts to terrify the city. Riley and his good friend, Detective Bartone (Jack Davenport), race versus time to try and conserve the possessed Samantha, and stop the reformation of Prince Talos. After a violent fight in the underground subway system, the resurgent Talos claims Bartone's life.

In the film's climactic finale, Riley manages to permeate the heart of Talos with an ancient sword, thus freeing Samantha from his control, stopping the Mummy's resurrection, and launching the souls of the victims. The motion picture concludes with Samantha and Riley leaving the now peaceful burial place of Prince Talos.

Total Impression
"Tale of the Mummy" returns stories of ancient curses and supernatural revenges. The movie is a fascinating mix of action, thriller, and scary, aided by special effects and an appealing story. Despite certain plot-holes and inconsistencies, the efficiencies by the ensemble cast, especially the chemistry between Jason Scott Lee and Louise Lombard, and the renowned Christopher Lee in the temporary character of Sir Richard Turkel, help raise the movie. This cinematic offering will likely appeal to fans of the horror-adventure genre.
