Overview
"The Marvelous Land of Oz", a movie released in 1987, is a follow up to "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" based on the 2nd book in L. Frank Baum's traditional series. Produced by the Burbank Films Australia and directed by Tim Reid, the movie continues the charming story in the land of Oz, but with a brand new cast of characters. The story mainly focuses on a kid called Tip and his amazing adventure, with the film capturing the appeal and imaginative spirit of the initial books.

Plot and Characters
The motion picture opens with Tip, who has been living under the injustice of the wicked witch Mombi. Instead of concentrating on Dorothy's go back to Oz, as numerous audiences might have anticipated, the film presents new characters and new adventures. When Tip creates a pumpkin-headed stick figure called Jack to terrify Mombi, he wrongly brings it to life with magic powder.

After the upset Mombi threatens to turn him into a statue, Tip leaves her clutches in addition to Jack. They quickly befriend the Scarecrow, who is now the king of Oz after Dorothy's departure. The trio roams the Land of Oz, discovering various detailed characters, consisting of a highly animated wood sawhorse, H.M. Woggle-Bug T.E., and the Gump, a wisecracking, wispy-winged moose head.

Conflict and Resolution
The motion picture presents a complex story as the travelers experience General Jinjur and her army of revolt, young women who think that considering that the Scarecrow, a male, has ruled Oz improperly, a female must take control of. The group manages to leave Jinjur and her rebellious army who effectively take control of the Emerald City. Meanwhile, Mombi tries to unite with Jinjur to preserve the coup, providing her wonderful help to keep the Scarecrow, the rightful King of Oz, away.

The friends eventually seek aid from Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, who exposes that the captivated woman Ozma, rightful ruler of Oz, is under the witch Mombi's spell. An extreme face-off ensues, leading to Mombi's defeat and the breaking of the magic, hence bring back Ozma to her rightful kind and location.

Images and Animation
"The Marvelous Land of Oz" magnificently provides the imaginative, fantastical characters and the rich, vivid Land of Oz. From talking, walking pumpkins to flying, wise-cracking, moose-headed sofas, the film welcomes Baum's whimsical creativity in a captivating animation design. This world's enchanting images makes it an unforgettable journey, matching the magical and somewhat ridiculous spirit of the original novel.

Final Verdict
The 1987 adjustment of "The Marvelous Land of Oz", though lacking Dorothy's existence, takes audiences on a similarly wonderful journey filled with fascinating characters, adventure, and the hallmark charm of Oz. With its abundant animation, well-adapted story, and lively representations of classic characters as well as new ones, it functions as a wonderful follow up, continuing to enchant fans of the original works. The film's underlying messages about rightful management, friendship, and guts even more include depth to this flamboyant adventure tale. It is a must-watch movie for lovers of L. Frank Baum's wonderful universe.
