Plot Summary
The motion picture starts with acknowledging the battleship USS Missouri for its excellent service. Ryan Gary Busey, the ship's executive officer, demands a celebration. At the occasion, a rock band arrives for entertainment, but it's a cover for a group of terrorists led by Bill Strannix (Tommy Lee Jones), a disgraced former CIA operative.

Strannix and his group take control of the ship, eliminating the captain as well as team members who resist. Unbeknownst to the terrorists, the ship's cook, Casey Ryback (Steven Seagal), is more than a basic cook. He is an ex-Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient known for his lethal battle skills.

Ryback's Counterattack
When the hijacking takes place, Ryback is secured a freezer by the ship's officers due to a dispute. He is released by a crew member and after that finds the takeover. He rescues Jordan Tate (Erika Eleniak), a Playboy model who had actually been worked with to leap out of a cake for the party but had actually been knocked unconscious in the freezer.

Throughout the movie, Ryback conscripts Tate as his unwilling partner while he prevents the mercenaries' plans, and kills them off one by one. His understanding of the ship and his skills as a SEAL show important.

Strannix's Plan and Ryback's Response
The essence of the film focuses on Strannix's strategy to take the ship's nuclear arsenal and offer it to the highest bidder. The Navy, uninformed of Ryback's action, prepares a counterattack which might lead to the loss of the ship and its team. Ryback manages to get in touch with the navy and notify them about the circumstance, purchasing himself time to shut down the warheads and beat the terrorists.

After a series of brutal fights and intense encounters, Ryback faces Strannix in a last showdown. The climax of the movie is marked by an impressive face-off in between Ryback and Strannix, who eventually falls at the hands of the former Navy SEAL.

Conclusion
As Navy SEALs storm the ship, the command orders Ryback to give up. Ryback, holding up his Navy SEAL badge, recognizes himself. He is instantly recognized, and the movie ends with Ryback and Tate being saved while the Navy gains back control of the battleship.
