Film Overview
"Wilson" is a poignant comedy-drama film produced in 2017, based on the graphic novel of the same name by Daniel Clowes. The cast includes Woody Harrelson as Wilson and Laura Dern as his separated wife, Pippi. The film focuses on the titular character, Wilson, a lonesome, unstable, and exceedingly sincere middle-aged male coming to grips with his ever-present privacy.

Plot Summary
The film starts by presenting Wilson, a neglected, abrasive male who essentially lives in his own world. His objective is to connect with people however goes around it the incorrect method by offloading his unwanted and painfully sincere viewpoints on others; this often results in off-putting encounters. Wilson's only buddy is his canine called Pepper, but when the dog falls sick, he is forced to face his dire privacy.

His loneliness takes him back on memory lane, and he chooses to trace his estranged other half, Pippi, who left him 17 years back. Deducing that she had actually aborted their child, he handles to discover her working as a waitress. Pippi, now sober after having problem with drug dependency, admits to Wilson that she delivered their infant and provided her up for adoption rather than having an abortion. Wilson gets pleased at the prospect of having a household and persuades Pippi to help him discover their daughter.

Wilson's Search for His Daughter
Wilson and Pippi track down their teenage child, Claire (Isabella Amara), who is obese, socially uncomfortable, living a mediocre life, and unconcerned of her genuine parents. They present themselves after a flimsy associate, which sends a shockwave through Claire's life. The newfound presence of her birth parents puzzles Claire and weaves a troubled phase, creating chaos for all 3 of them.

Wilson Faces Reality
Life takes a turn for Wilson when he is slapped with a legal notification for kidnapping Claire and troubling her peace. He is sentenced to prison, where he lastly discovers a sense of community amongst the jail inmates. Upon release, he goes back to discover Pippi and Claire gone; Pippi leaves him a note discussing that she is trying to form a healthy relationship with Claire, without his intrusion. The movie concludes hinting at the feeling of surprise that Wilson experiences, which assists him in discovering to moderate his ruthless honesty and forming human connections.
