Cynics see the world as a location of corruption and immorality, thinking that everybody is equally corrupt. Idealists, on the other hand, likewise see the world as a place of corruption, but they believe that they are the exception to the rule. They believe that they are the only ones who are not corrupt which everybody else is. This quote is a reminder that both cynicism and idealism can be severe and that it is very important to find a balance in between the 2. It is important to recognize the flaws in the world, but likewise to acknowledge the good in people and to make every effort to be much better.
