This quote by Marcus Aurelius suggests that all of us have goodness within us, and we just need to browse within ourselves to discover it. He compares this inner goodness to a wellspring that is constantly present and ready to surface, however we require to do the work of digging within ourselves to bring it forth. Essentially, he is encouraging us to make the effort to show and introspect so that we can take advantage of our own inner resources of goodness and capacity.
