This is because vice is a part of humanity, and it is impossible to dislike vice without also hating individuals who possess it. Instead, it is much better to concentrate on assisting people to conquer their vices and progress variations of themselves. This quote encourages us to be more understanding and compassionate towards others, and to acknowledge that everybody has defects and weak points. It also advises us that we must not judge people for their vices, however instead try to assist them to overcome them.
