"I didn't grow up with my mother, and so losing her for real was like, some sort of latent childhood, some sort of unresolved issue. When she left for real, it was sort of like, I was done"

- Billy Corgan

About this Quote

This quote by Billy Corgan talks to the difficulty of losing a moms and dad, specifically when there is a lack of a strong relationship. Growing up without his mother suggested that he never had the opportunity to form a strong bond with her, and so when she died, it resembled a childhood dream that was never satisfied. It was as if he was never ever able to solve the problems that he had with her, and so when she passed away, it resembled a last closure to the unsettled problems. It was like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders, and he was finally able to carry on with his life. It was a difficult time for him, however it was also a time of healing and approval.
