Linda McCartney was not looking for another marriage when she fulfilled Paul. She had actually already been married prior to and was content with her life. Paul was a nice male, a geologist, and had a similar character to Ernest Hemingway. Despite this, Linda and Paul wed since of social conventions. It was anticipated of them to get married, and they felt bound to do so. Linda was not looking for a relationship, but she felt that she needed to wed Paul in order to harmonize society. She was not necessarily in love with him, however she respected him and wanted to do what was expected of her.
