This quote by David Hume is a suggestion of the insignificance of human life in the grand plan of deep space. Hume is suggesting that the life of a human being disappears crucial than that of an oyster. This is a plain tip of the smallness of human life in contrast to the vastness of the universe. It is a tip that, in spite of our best efforts, our lives are eventually unimportant in the grand scheme of things. We may strive to make a difference worldwide, however in the end, our lives are just a small speck in the vastness of deep space. Hume's quote is a pointer to value the small minutes in life and to not take ourselves too seriously.
