Maria Montessori is highlighting the importance for an instructor to not only possess the capability to observe natural phenomena, but likewise to have a genuine interest and desire to do so. Additionally, the teacher needs to fully understand their function as an observer, with their focus being on the phenomenon being observed instead of on their individual beliefs or biases. In general, the instructor's involvement in the observation process must be fixated the natural phenomenon itself.
