In this quote, Carl Sagan is advising us that the universe does not focus on human desires and aspirations. It is a huge and complicated entity that operates on its own laws and principles. As humans, we frequently tend to think that everything needs to line up with our objectives and strategies. Nevertheless, Sagan is reminding us that deep space is not bound to deal with our desires. It is a humbling tip that we are just a little part of the grand scheme of things which we should find out to exist side-by-side with the universe instead of trying to manage it.
