It is a really private sport, where the skater is alone on the ice and has only 7 minutes over 2 nights to show themselves. This requires a great deal of psychological and physical strength, in addition to courage to take threats and push the limits of what is possible. It is a difficult task to be able to carry out under such pressure and examination, and it takes a special sort of individual to be able to do so. It is a testimony to the dedication and effort of figure skaters that they have the ability to rise to the obstacle and perform at the greatest levels.
