Claudia Black Biography
Claudia Black is an Australian actress, best known for her roles in science fiction and fantasy TV shows and video games. She was born on October 11, 1972, in Sydney, Australia, to a microbiologist father and a teacher mother. Claudia grew up in Sydney, where she attended the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), one of Australia's most prestigious drama schools.
After graduating from NIDA, Claudia began her acting career on Australian TV, appearing in shows such as "A Country Practice" and "City Life". Her big break came in 1999 when she was cast as Officer Aeryn Sun in the science fiction TV series "Farscape". The show, which ran for four seasons, was a critical and commercial success, and Claudia's performance as Aeryn Sun was widely praised.
After "Farscape", Claudia continued to work in science fiction and fantasy TV shows, appearing in "Stargate SG-1" where she played Vala Mal Doranm, "Stargate: Atlantis" and "The Dresden Files". She also played a recurring role in the TV series "90210, and participated in Pitch Black.
