Tina Turner is an American singer, songwriter, dancer and actress, first introduced in 1960 with her ex husband, the guitarist Ike Turner (born 1931). They had a great success under the name Ike & Tina Turner with a dynamic blend of rock and rhythm and blues, and the song River Deep - Mountain High (1966), produced by Phil Spector, one of rock music's classics.
As a solo artist was Tina Turner a big comeback in 1984 with the LP-plate Private Dancer, and the success continued with Break Every Rule (1986), Tina Live in Europe (1988), Foreign Affair (1989), What's Love Got to Do with It (1993), Wildest Dreams (1996) and Twenty Four Seven (1999). She has also appeared in movies, including Tommy (1975) and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985). Her autobiography I, Tina, written by Kurt Loder, was published in 1986 (it was filmed in 1993 as Tina, What's Love Got to Do with It).
