Plato's quote "Democracy enters despotism" is a cautioning about the possible dangers of democracy. He thought that when a democracy is left unchecked, it can cause a type of federal government where someone or a small group of individuals have absolute power. This type of federal government is referred to as a despotism. Plato argued that when a democracy is not effectively managed, it can result in a situation where most of individuals are not represented and the minority of individuals are able to take control. This can cause a situation where the minority of individuals have the ability to manipulate most of individuals and use their power to their own advantage. Plato thought that this kind of government was not helpful for the people and could result in a scenario where the people are oppressed and their rights are taken away. He argued that democracy must be handled carefully which it should be utilized to make sure that most of people are represented and their rights are secured.
