The 1960s was a time of terrific change and development, and it was a terrific time to be young. It was a time of fantastic optimism and idealism, and the phrase "Make Love, Not War" was a popular motto of the time. People were hopeful for a better future and believed that they might make a distinction. In spite of the prevalence of drugs and sex, individuals were still mostly innocent and ignorant. The 1960s didn't end till about 1976, and during this time individuals were still hopeful and optimistic about the future. It was a time of excellent development and modification, and it was a terrific time to be young.
