While trying to sell Krabby Patties to hungry surfers in the waters of Goo Lagoon, SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward and Mr. Krabs are swept away by a giant wave. Mr. Krabs is carried off into the haunted waters of the Dutchman's Triangle, and the other three find themselves stranded on a remote tropical island. SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward travel to the heart of the island where they meet an enigmatic surf guru named Jack Kahuna Laguna. Jack tells them that the only way back to Bikini Bottom is to surf the legendary wave called "The Big One". The bad news-this wave only comes once in a lifetime. The good news-The Big One is coming in just a matter of days. And the other bad news-they don't know how to surf!
