Rose, saves herself using a whistle on a life vest of a frozen victim, and is picked up by rescuers from the lifeboats. Upon reaching New York, she offers her name as "Rose Dawson". She hides from Cal, who made it through on a lifeboat, and later discovers that he dedicated suicide after losing his fortune.

Ending
In the present day, Rose reveals she's had the 'Heart of the Ocean' the whole time and drops the diamond into the sea, over the Titanic's wreck website. Her story ended up, Rose goes to her bed and is seen most likely passing away in her sleep. She is then welcomed on the grand staircase of the now-renovated Titanic by the spirits of those who died on the ship, and she and Jack share an enthusiastic kiss, seen by those who were lost to the cold Atlantic Ocean.
