"A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it"

This quote by George W. Bush is a reflection of the problem of governing a democracy. He is recommending that a dictatorship would be much easier to handle than a democracy, as a totalitarian would not have to worry about the viewpoints of individuals or the requirement to compromise. This quote also indicates that a dictatorship would be more efficient, as the leader would have outright power and could make decisions quickly without needing to seek advice from anybody else. However, Bush is also implying that a dictatorship would be a bad thing, as it would do not have the checks and balances of a democracy and might cause overbearing and unfair rule. Eventually, Bush is suggesting that democracy is difficult, but it is worth the effort as it is the best way to guarantee liberty and justice for all.
