"Between two groups of people who want to make inconsistent kinds of worlds, I see no remedy but force"

Oliver Wendell Holmes is recommending that when there are 2 groups of individuals who want to create two different worlds that are incompatible with each other, there is no service besides making use of force or violence. Basically, he is stating that when two groups can not concern an arrangement through serene means, someone will have to use force to enforce their vision of the world on the other group.
