Villains get the best toys, and Eric Roberts isn’t pretending otherwise. Roberts’ phrasing is tellingly unglamorous. “Bad guys” isn’t “antagonists” or “complex antiheroes.” It’s the working actor’s term, the guy who’s been on sets enough to know the moral universe is often an art-department decision. The sexuality (“biggest bosomed”) isn’t incidental; it’s a wink at how villainy gets paired with a male fantasy package, turning the threat into something aspirational. The audience is invited to disapprove with one part of the brain while the rest of the body enjoys the view.

Then comes the real actor’s point: “great death scenes.” A hero has to survive into the sequel and keep his tone consistent. The villain is allowed to go operatic. Dying becomes a showcase, the one moment you can’t cut away from: rage, regret, bravado, theatricality. Roberts is pointing at the perverse reward system of screen morality - the better you are at being bad, the more unforgettable your exit.
